WHO WILL BE JESUS TO THEM?
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. Remember you are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. God is love, whoever lives in love, lives in God and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of Judgement, because in this world we are like him.
For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. As a Christian, are we not to love our brothers, are we not to be Jesus like? If Jesus loved us enough to come to this earth as a child in a manger, grew up and accomplished his ministry, performed miracles, and all the other things he did, written down and not written down, suffered and then died on the cross, was buried but then arose to live again forever, he did all of that for me and each one of us. Because of him, we also have that same promise of life everlasting with him in Heaven forever and ever.
We have seen the saying ”What Would Jesus Do”. We are to love as Jesus did, love your brother. I also saw a bumper sticker that said ”God is my co-pilot”, No, that is the wrong order, God is the pilot and I am the co-pilot or servant. Be as Jesus loved, God is first in everything, our bodies are as living sacrifices, holy and expected unto God.
We are the only Jesus most will ever see. People have many troubles and trials and are looking for something. We are either in the devil’s army or we are in God’s army, no in between. We are either serving God or the devil. We should as christians be trying to get the sinners to go AWOL from the devil’s army and come over to the Lord’s army. We are to try to save people from an eternity in torment and we seem to forget what we are fighting for. We are told to preach the word of God to a lost and dying world. Our Christian light is what will shine out into a very dark world. If anyone has been in a cave and turned out all the lights, it is really dark. Light one candle or one light and all in the room will see it.
In the time of Jesus, he turned the water into wine, cured a man of leprosy;a
centurion’s servant was paralyzed and in terrible pain, he asked Jesus
to cure him and ask him to say the word and he would be cured for he was not
worthy to have Jesus under his roof, Jesus cured him. Jesus went around curing
many, talking to many, helping many, the sick, blind, crippled and those possessed
with demons. He calmed storms, fed 4000 and 5000 plus women and children,a
tax was needed to be paid and Jesus told Peter to go to the lake and throw
out his line. Take the first fish you catch and open it’s mouth and
you will find a four drachma coin, take it and give it to them for my tax
and yours. Jesus gave us many parables for our learning and edification. He
raised the dead and cried for Lazuras with Martha and Mary. I heard the song
that said he cried but he cried because he was bringing Lazuras back to this
world.
In the shadow of the steeple, even the steeple that is on top of our church house, people are crying, hurting, dying and going to Hell in sight of this church. Who is or will be Jesus to them? Jesus told the woman at the well that he would give her water that she would never thirst again. Do we offer the gift of God? Do we love God? We love God by following his commands. By loving our brothers as ourselves. Have a humble heart as Jesus did, shine the light so it will break the darkness of the devil and help someone to come out of his army. Remember, someone was Jesus to us, who will be Jesus to them?
